Cute crochet....

There are a lot of crochet tops and sweaters floating around the web.   These are a couple of my favorites I have seen.  Granny squares making the fashion scene...love them!  Very cold weather here in Kansas, 5 degrees when we went to bed last night!  Looking up for the weekend, in the 50's, by Monday we will be back in the 20's, it just can't make up it's mind where it wants to be!  Keep warm...till next time......

Colorado sky

Came back to the farm yesterday from Colorado......beautiful day and full moon to travel by.  The scenery makes the trip so enjoyable and it is only a day from here to there so I never tire of it.  Monarch pass was showing all her beauty yesterday as I traveled over the mountains......Thankful Thursday...till next time.

Hexagon's

Cute little hexe pattern, different threads change the look completely.  Heavier thread would make a sweet afghan, darling tablecloth or bedspread in the thinner thread. Nice small block that would be perfect for take along project whether traveling in car or plane.  Did you watch the Golden Globes last night?  Emma Thompson's hairdo was so pretty!

Paw Prints

Paw prints at our front door...pretty big whatever it was.  Shoveled last nights snow from the driveway this morning...more snow coming in today....so peaceful and quiet outside.  Getting lots of knitting done, started a top down sweater, my first attempt at one, we shall see how this goes.  The news says flu bug is in 35 states now, be careful out there.........till next time......frosty Friday!

Winter and knitting

Spending some time at our Colorado house...snow snow snow!  So quiet and peaceful, a white blanket of snow covering everything in sight.  Nice and cozy in our home and lots of knitting going on as my sis came out a few days after I did.  She and I both are working on sweaters.  She knits like the wind and totally perfect stitches.....mine not so much. But I march onward hoping I may wind up being half the knitter she is.  I did finish a baby blanket last week and got it off to the intended baby before she is too big to enjoy it.  I would love to complete one of my projects each month this year, keeping track of them by photos......I will try to do that!    Seems a lot of the country is dealing with bitter cold weather and extreme winds, Colorado is no exception...brrrr.  I am headed out for a quick walk to the grocery store, bundled up appropriately for the 10 degrees out there.  Keep warm, till next time........

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! Have you eaten your black-eyed peas for luck?  That is a tradition in our family passed on from one generation to another. We ate ours for luck at lunch today along with some cornbread and sautéed vegetables....yummy goodness.  I have completed the baby blanket I have been knitting for a new family baby and need to get it in the mail tomorrow.  Hope they send me a picture of Khloe in her new green blanket.  Shopping Hobby Lobby yesterday and used my birthday gift money to purchase a new knitting book and some yarn for a vest......for me.  All of Hobby Lobby's Christmas items are on sale for 80% off....I am set for next Christmas!  Now if when december arrives if I can just remember where I put everything...LOL.  Cute idea here for a horseshoe wreath hmmmm I know a welder too!  2014 is here and we welcome it wholeheartedly, looking forward to all the fun and adventure of a new year!  Till next time........
