Dresden Borders....

Playing around with quilt borders for the Dresden quilt.  Probably will go with the vines and add some leaves.  Isn't it amazing how taking a picture of your work changes how you see it up close?  I would love to do some embroidery on these borders, we'll see how it goes....Happy Sunday!

Scrappy Nine Patch.....

Spending time with a friend, doing lots of sewing. She wanted a scrappy quilt for her lake home and scrappy we made!  We both have a love of cooking and each of us bought a new cook book while shopping in Crested Butte.  I had to laugh when after we had ordered our food in our favorite Mexican eatery
we were both sitting there reading our new cookbooks......Have a great weekend!

Dresden almost done......and a new cookbook.

The dresden plate quilt top is done except for the 10 inch outside border.  I have ordered more of the pink/red/white rose fabric used on the blocks and this will be incorporated for the outside border.  The fabric is from Red Rooster, a Jennifer Chiavirni print, one of my favorites.  There will be some appliqué done on that border, seeing as I have a lot of the dresden "plates" leftover.  We have a beautiful week ahead of us, tho I know winter isn't over this is certainly a welcome change!

I received this book I ordered, such great recipes and helpful hints on pie crust perfection.  Something about reading a new cookbook I love.  My Granddaughter and I have eaten pie many times @ Hoosier Mama Pie company in Chicago, this woman can bake a pie!  Happy Tuesday!

I Need A 14' Runner.......

So I have heard my son say "I need a 14foot runner for my wine rack", he has said this to me twice now.  It finally registered with me maybe he is hinting for me to make him one?  He built his wine rack a few years back, why he now needs a runner, I don't know...but I made him one.  It's a surprise, he has been out of town and I went over and put it on the rack for him, so we'll see how long it takes him to notice.  hehe....One thing about a 14' runner it used up a lot of my stash...that's a good thing because now I can buy more....see how that works......

Snowy......

We got quite a snow yesterday and more on the way......got out the 4x4 truck and headed out to celebrate my Aunt's 89th birthday.  Roads were devilish on our way but nicely cleaned off coming back home.  Our yard looked like a winter wonderland, beautiful snow on the trees....Happy Sunday!  Keep Warm.....
