Sundays Musings......

We got out in the garden last eve before the 29 degrees temp came and pulled all the tomato and pepper plants.  Looks like we will be having fresh tomatoes thru December, what a garden year this has been for us.   Tried a new recipe yesterday for tomato jam, next time I will be sure and remove all of the seeds!  Mr. Outdoors says it tastes like strawberry jam.  Spices are cinnamon, ground allspice and cloves, very tasty, I had never heard of tomato jam.  Most of my Christmas homemade's are finished, just need to frame a couple of them and I will be done.  The dragon and knight are from Crested Butte, Colorado.......amazing work.  Happy Sunday!

No Freeze......

I am amazed I am still picking from the garden, it's November already!  News forecast was for a freeze last night so I got out and picked everything I could and guess what....no freeze.  Oh well, I froze all of the peppers and maybe will do some green tomato relish, we'll see.  Fried green tomatoes will happen for sure!  Our Sunday is 60 degrees and full sun, hope your Sunday is great!

Happy Place.....

Where's your "happy place"?  I have several but my sewing room was at the top of the list yesterday.  We had a beautiful 73 degree day,
with all the windows open and a southernly breeze it was a great day for quilting in my sewing room.  Happy Wednesday!

Crawl to Fall.....

Fall is lingering between 60 degrees and 70 degrees which is just fine by me.  We haven't dipped to freezing at night yet so the garden is still hanging on, however growth has slowed to a crawl. My plan is to spend some time in the garden today, cleaning out all the peppers and hopefully cleaning, chopping and freezing them all.  At this point I really don't think we need any more canned peppers! We have been having the most impressive sunsets here in Kansas, Mother nature most definitely putting on a show for us.
