Burlap Banners

For the Anniversary party I made 3 banners of pictures thru out our 50 years.  Walmart made copies of 60 pictures for $11.00, I stapled them to burlap banners, guests were able to take any pictures they wanted.  They were all taken at the end of the day.

Our 50th Anniversary

We had a great 50th celebration with Family and Friends.  Blessed we are in every way.....

We had around 65 people attend and served fried chicken, smoked brisket, pulled pork, german sausage, hot links, garlic slaw, potato salad, pasta salad and fruit kabobs.  Dessert was carrot cake, chocolate cake, mini cream puffs, whole strawberries with cream cheese dip, cherry and apple pie.  Son Mark smoked the meat, made a beautiful slide show of our lives from the past 50 years and gave us a beautiful flat screen tv!  Our guest book was the same one my grandparents used for their 50th anniversary, they saved us plenty of room in their book for our celebration too.  We received so many beautiful cards and gifts we truly were overwhelmed.....such a wonderful day for us.

Count Down & Twins!

We are in the count down days till the 50th anniversary party.  Cake has been ordered but I also baked two carrot cakes, read on pinterest where you can bake and freeze ahead of time, we'll see how that turns out.  Will frost them on the day of the party with cream cheese frosting, one with nuts and one without.  There will also be apple and cherry pies and mini cream puffs on the dessert table.  I have a beautiful crystal bowl on a stand that will have whole strawberries filled to the brim.  We are making the dessert table self-serve so everything needs to be cut ahead of time and hopefully that will work to our advantage.  I will make the cole slaw and potato salad on Friday, 30lbs of potatoes to feed 100 people!  I will have lots of help peeling potatoes and grinding the cabbage for slaw....always Thankful for the help!  Baked beans will be fixed on the morning of the party and son Mark is smoking all of the meat...can't wait!   I shopped all day on Wednesday for a new dress and no luck at all...nada.  I am going with black slacks and three new tops to choose from, when Granddaughter arrives she will help me decide which top to wear...Thank goodness for Granddaughter's!  We are into the throes of summer heat, going to be 100+ today and upper 90's all next week, one good thing about that is the clothes on the line dry fast!  Mr. Outdoors keeps a trail cam in one of his fields and captured this image of mama deer and her twins, how adorable!  Happy Saturday, keep cool!
