My Sweetheart

Mr. Outdoors and I .....married 46 years...my heart.

Cupcake stands

My Grandaughter and I made the cake stands for her wedding, so wonderful to share these memories with her, such a sweetheart!

Walking the Rockies

Gunnison Colorado on one of our many walks.  Fall is so pretty and the horses a big bonus!

Grandmothers crochet

This filet crochet was done by my Grandmother in the early 1900's.  Was a collar for a dress she made and I treasure it dearly, Grandma made so many lovely quilts, dresses and crocheted beautifully.  She taught me so much about needlework and cooking and I am Blessed to have had her for my Grandmother.  I have many pieces like this she made and will probably frame this one.

Monarch Pass Colorado

Tamales

I have always wanted to lear how to make tamales, our family loves them!  I watched a couple tutorials online and they turned out great!

Double wedding ring quilt

Tea Pot quilt

GrandmaR's quilt

Loaded up my husbands (Mr. Outdoors) Grandmothers quilt onto my quilt frame .  This quilt is so very fragile and all pieced by hand, they never had electricity in their life time.  The family offered to install it for them but they preferred the way they had always lived... without it.  I will quilt the outside borders which I added and hand tie the inner blocks.

Blueberry Pie

Yesterday made a blueberry pie and as usual it boiled over (drat) thank goodness for aluminum foil and cookie sheet!  I have several pie birds, guess I need to start using one on berry pies...duh.  The weather was so warm yesterday we had our pie and tea on the back porch...it was lovely!

A new day!

A beautiful sunny day, very unusual for this time of year but we are going to be 65 degrees today.  In fact the whole week is 50 degrees or higher.  Going to be doing laundry today and hanging out our clothes to dry in the glorious sunshine.  We have been having the most beautiful sunsets and I seem to appreciate them more all the time.  Maybe because I always worked 2nd and 3rd shifts I never really got to see many sunsets so they are special to me now.
