September Days....

As September is winding down I paused to reflect on how quickly this month has passed me by.  The Family got together at our Colorado digs for a fun labor day, lots of fishing, cooking (you can't go wrong with cookies and ice cream for dessert, think ice cream sandwiches) and game playing.  Granddaughter has all these fun games on her phone, we all get so hysterical laughing.  The milo crop has been harvested and was the best ever for our farm....huge heads of milo!  Mr. Outdoors and I are spending the last of the month back in Colorado, catching lots of trout and dining alfresco in the glorious Colorado fall weather. The aspens are turning and did you catch the moon eclipse? I am looking forward to decorating for fall and the cooler weather, always seems to energize me with renewed energy.  Christmas will be here before we know it, I have started on some of my handmade gifts and enjoy that so much.   Hope your week is a great one!

Still Canning.....

I am still canning from the garden, tackling some salsa today.   Our weather is cooling off some and that is always good when you are canning.   Depending on when our first frost arrives we may have garden produce for quite awhile yet.  I am anxious to get up to my sewing room, several projects I am wanting to start.  Seems the sewing really slows down when summer is here, never enough time.....  Enjoy the beautiful weather!

Peppers Galore!

Our hot weather has returned with gusto!  Good for the tomatoes and peppers, just got to remember to keep them watered.  Canning some and giving away some as our bounty is unbelievable!  We have a couple of Family members in assisted living facilities right now and they both are enjoying the home grown tomatoes.  Planting four different varieties of peppers this year has given us  beautiful pickled peppers.  I love canning and we will enjoy this when the snow is blowing and fresh produce isn't available from our garden.  Happy Thursday!
