The fawn is growing!

Remember this sweet fawn Mr. Outdoors happened upon during his morning walk?  Well look how much this baby has grown...in less than 2 months yet!  Sweet!  Something tells me we won't be petting it anymore.

Hot!

We are back @ the farm in Kansas and brother it is HOT!!  111 degrees today with no relief in sight.  It is not fit for man nor beast out there, trying to keep the trees, flowers and garden  alive is a real challenge.  I am still canning tomatoes by doing it outside on the propane burner we use for turkey frying.  The cantaloupe are ripening at breakneck speed and so tasty on a hot summer day!  BLT's are the lunch of choice and so good with those fresh tomatoes.  It seems my day is filled with laundry, cooking and dishes these days.  I have been doing some crochet of late, a purse I found a pattern for in an old crochet magazine and the Grandaughters wedding quilt is a daily project of mine.  Hopefully I will have it finished by Christmas!  Looking forward to August passing by quickly so fall can arrive in record time.  Fingers crossed here!  Sultry Sunday!

Summer canning

Canning tomatoes from the garden today...always makes me thing of my Grandmother who canned a zillion jars of fruits and vegetables in her lifetime.  All done without the convience of air conditioning!  She taught me so much and canning was one of those things.  Miss youGrandma!

July is whizzing by!

Mr. Outdoors and I are in Colorado, enjoying the cool weather and doing lots of sight seeing and some fishing.  The Cattlemans Rodeo is going on now and we have enjoyed all the activities and attended the 4 H club auction last eve of all the projects the children had made,  Those kids are so precious, modeling the outfits they have sewn and rockets they have made, pottery, leather crafts, baking, crochet and quilts too.  The weather is so much cooler here than in Kansas and we sure do appreciate it!  We drove over to Montrose today and did some shopping, the pictures above were taken on our way back to Gunnison.  Terrific Tuesday!

Our Anniversary

Today is our 47th wedding anniversary...where oh where has time gone?  We are both squinting in this picture, the sun was so bright, it almost looks like we are in pain...LOL.  Mr. Outdoors is the love of my life, my very best friend and such a great Dad and Grandpa to our kids and grandkids.  Three more years and we will celebrate our 50th and it will be party time!
