Brownies and baseball = win!

Every time this nephew comes to visit these brownies are made for him (well for the rest of us too)!  He loves his brownies and his chocolate and you mix those two together and he is a happy guy.  Very simple recipe, 9x13 pan 2 brownie mixes and three hershery chocolate big candy bars.  Mix brownies as directed, put 1/2 of this mixture in your greased pan, lay the candy bars on top and add rest of brownie batter.  Bake as directed....so rich and good!  Nephew played in a tournament in our big city, 6 games in 3 days and they won every game....and the tournament!  Fun times with family!

Fabric on walls

I really like the look of this fabric wall technique.  The cost would be so much cheaper than wallpaper and removal would be a snap.  Just think of all the possibilities with the beautiful fabrics we have in todays world.  Just one wall as a focus point in a room, how nicely the platters are shown in this photo.

Japanese Lilac tree

Spent a day last week with my two sisters going to estate sales and garage sales.  One of the homes we went to had a lovely lilac tree like this one.  The smell is unbelievable.  I picked a small branch to take home and show Mr. outdoors and it scented the car all afternoon.  They grow to 20 feet in height and width, I will be ordering a couple to be planted in the fall.  Very reasonable in price too.

Columbines and a back porch visitor.

Our Columbines are so pretty this year and hanging on later than usual due to our very springlike temperatures.  This is a different strain of columbines that what we normally have and we have had them here on the farm for over 25 years, come back every spring and continue blooming till the heat arrives.  This beautiful butterfly was on our back step the other morning. My picture doesn't do justice to the beautiful colors.  Just sitting there waiting for his picture to be taken, isn't he beautiful.  Enjoy this wonderful day!
