6 in One and Snow!

What do you think about this dessert?  Cherry pie inside a chocolate cake, pumpkin pie inside a spice cake and apple pie inside a white cake.  Six confections rolled into one, instructions on vittlemonster.com......  Son #2 told me about this, would take some time but seems doable. Kinda of like the turducken only sweet..HA!  We've had our first snow of the season and it is truly weird......green leaves on the trees and snow!  I don't ever remember this happening...ever!  Happy Wednesday, I am finishing up a Christmas project today and ready to move onto another.......

Baked custard and WM........

We seem to have an overabundance of eggs and so baked egg custard was on the menu.  Such a great comfort food and so simple to make, since we are cutting carbs, no crust... as in pie.  I love everything about William Morris prints, do you?  Such a talent and I am mesmerized by all that he accomplished in his lifetime.  We are having beautiful 60 and 70 degree days here in Kansas, that will be drastically changing day after tomorrow when the days high temp. will be 38 degrees....yikes!  Alaska is sending us a cold front that will last for several days/nights and wouldn't you know it the electric blanket is no where to be found.  We will be piling on the quilts for sure!  Have a great Sunday.....

Hello November!

I love November, it's my birthday month, Christmas is getting closer, winter is such a cozy time and even tho the days are shorter it seems I have more time for my sewing and reading.  A perfect time for making all those wonderful soup recipes I have been hoarding away and doing some baking of all things sweet and gooey!  All of the outdoor plants have been brought in for the winter and I have left potted one geranium and the big elephant ear which have taken up residence in the south windows of the dinning room.  We'll see how that goes.....Happy November!
