A new lamp...oh so pretty!

Do you ever shop auctions @ shop goodwill.com?  I just bought this beautiful hand painted hurricane lamp for $29.00.  Since it was a local item there is no shipping to pay so I can pick it up at the store.  I am loving the colors and Mr. Outdoors said he will rewire it for me....yea!

Trout fishing

Another love i have besides quilting and crochet and knitting is trout fishing.  Mr. Outdoors and I love catching and eating them!  Hubby knows how to filet the trout and we thread them on skewers and cook over the grill..OMGoodness they are so good!  We do a lot of summer fishing and enjoy a daily meal of trout...not only healthy but so delish.  See that sink full of filets...wowzer!  It being February and all sure makes me long for those nice summer days of fishing...come on spring...LOL!

A new dish

I am not a big fan of brussel sprouts but tried them baked with pecans, tossed with olive oil and they were pretty tasty.  I sliced them in half and they were baked @ 350 degrees for 20 minutes, the pecans def. add some great flavor!  The Newlyweds were in town today (granddaughter and her husband) so we met them at Old Chicago for an early dinner along with our son.  So good to see our Grandaughter, she owns a big chunk of our hearts!  Her husband is the best, so sweet to see them so in love.  Blowing snow and rain all afternoon and the coldest we've had it here for awhile.  We bought wallpaper and paint for the living room today, can't wait to get started on it, time to freshen up a bit.  We have geese a plenty in our fields. I never remember having them as a girl growing up, maybe the climate changing over the years?  Have a Blessed day!

Super Bowl Sunday...we are doing nachos, BBQ smokies and Pizza to celebrate.  Our normal fare is much healthier than that but we do celebrate now and again with some of our favorites.  A cold, windy and sunny day in the land of Oz, hung out some laundry earlier but I am having my doubts about it getting dry today..we'll see.  Was thinking earlier today how nice it would be to put on shorts and dig in my flower beds...come on spring!!!  LOL.  This picture is from Pintrest...just makes you want warm weather doesn't it??   Love the apricot colored poppies!

Rain!

We've had a good rain yesterday and maybe more today...yea!  We are so dry here and the rain is a welcome sight.  Lots of thunder and almost 3" poured down.  Mr. Outdoors and i had a day in town yesterday gathering groceries and the like and it is always so good to get home and settled in after a day of shopping.  I do have the best partner, always so much fun to be with and helpful with all that I do.  Today is house cleaning day for me..have a Happy Saturday!
