Finished up Grandma R's quilt today...yea!!! I cannot believe how heavy it is, she used a lot of dungaree pants so possibly that is why. The blocks are all hand pieced (precious little stitches) and I added the borders and quilted them. I wound up tying the blocks as they are so fragile, i'm guessing she made this quilt in the 1950's and it is made entirely from her families clothing. I will be mailing it on Monday next to my SIL as it is her quilt. This is a quilt that should never be machine washed..so very fragile.
