Thank goodness for our Grandmothers (mine taught me), Mothers, Aunts and all the rest who taught us how to do all the "fancy" work that is in our lives....where would we be without our needlework and crafts?

Summer's Bounty...........
We are enjoying our Colorado peaches and feel so fortunate to have gotten a 30 pound box for $1.25 a pound.. They are big and juicy, oh so sweet. Son Mark has had great luck with his black diamond watermelons this year, he is holding a 35 pounder. Bread and butter pickles are my favorite and so easy to make in the microwave! We have been enjoying our share of corn on the cob, corn salad is one of our fav's. Makes you think we all have to be so much healthier in the summertime with all the fresh goodness we have to eat. Thankful for our summer bounty.....
Happy Sunday!

Colorado Days.....
There's a lot to be said about "getting away from it all". No cell phones, computers, bills, you get the idea. Nothing but fresh air and sunshine! We love these mountains so much and never tire of exploring the vastness of it all. Sitting around the campfire with the one you love, it just doesn't get any better than that. Mr. Outdoors celebrated his birthday while we were camped and I was able to pull off a Birthday cake for him baked @ 10,000 feet elevation. The weather has been so unusually cool for August and the wildflowers are still blooming to perfection. Here are some of our pictures...enjoy! Happy Monday........

My $4.50 Quilt
Found this cross stitched quilt in a thrift shop the other day. Beautiful stitches and hand quilted, price on it was $4.50. Now I sure don't need anymore quilts, just couldn't pass it up, it's a beauty!

Summer BLT'S
Nothing says summer like BLT'S...... Bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwiches.
Granddaughter calls hers a BELT, she adds an egg to hers. Tomatoes courtesy of son Mark and his girl Susan's garden, tomato's as big as the bread slices!

Roses and a quilt....
My knock-out roses are doing well, not really big flowers yet but maybe next year they will be larger.
I am getting the binding on the blue and white quilt. Chose the floral print, something about the contrast I like!
Happy Tuesday....catch you later!
