Peppers Galore!

Our hot weather has returned with gusto!  Good for the tomatoes and peppers, just got to remember to keep them watered.  Canning some and giving away some as our bounty is unbelievable!  We have a couple of Family members in assisted living facilities right now and they both are enjoying the home grown tomatoes.  Planting four different varieties of peppers this year has given us  beautiful pickled peppers.  I love canning and we will enjoy this when the snow is blowing and fresh produce isn't available from our garden.  Happy Thursday!                                                                

 

Garden Bounty.....

The milo has turned and the garden is flourishing, what a great year with all the rain.  Jalapeño jelly is happening today, have a great Monday!

Turning 70.....

Mr. Outdoors turned 70 yesterday, isn't he handsome!  We celebrated with a steak dinner on Saturday night at our Granddaughters in Kc, a  Sunday morning walk in the park followed by breakfast at our great neighborhood cafe. His favorite cake is chocolate so I made a dark chocolate cake decorated with twix bars and peanut m&m's, he liked it!  I am such a lucky woman to be married 50 years to such a wonderful man!

Peach Time!

We always anticipate every summer the ripening of Colorado peaches.....they are sweet and so run down your chin juicy!  Mr. Outdoors favorite treat next to dark chocolate...LOL.   They are ripe and ready and I am dreaming of a peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream....yum!

August Days.....

Have you noticed August is flying by?  Mr. Outdoors and I have been enjoying the extended season of wild flowers here in Colorado.  The camping, fishing and four wheeling adventures have been wonderful!  Alas, time to get back to our normal routine but it was glorious while it lasted!  The amount of laundry we accumulate while camping never ceases to amaze me, in Colorado you'd better have clothes for two seasons, warm days and cold nights.   Happy Monday!

Summer's Bounty....

Summertime and the livin is easy...remember that song from Porgy and Bess?   Summertime is garden time around the farm, bread and tomato sandwiches and BLT's.  Granddaughter calls hers a BELT, she adds an egg to her BLT.

Baby Blankets.....

I always keep extra baby blankets on hand that I have knitted or crocheted, so fun to remove them from their tissue paper and choose which one goes to the newest baby in our circle of Family and Friends........This one goes to Kobe, sweet baby boy.
